budding wood

I walked under and my eyes turned heavenward…and in that moment His handiwork drew a word picture on my heart… written in that budding tree.

wood…how does something so soft and pliable push through that seemingly unbending surface? It sits idle for the winter months…unseen activity  One would think was dead.  no life.  but with increasing Sonshine stimulating growth.

for all the seasons of my heart…that seem to go from Ur to Haran and down into Egypt storing up all the words…building altars only to come

to

a place that the words cannot be contained anymore…come budding forth culminating in a clump that needs constant care to form into real living sentences that breathe…that breathe life - valuejoydaughtershippraise …to be able to take the hardness of wandering in the wilderness for years to shape these into whole bites for the chewing and digesting…so that my soul no longer lives deaf to starving calls crying out around the world.

and Jesus said to herto meDid I not say to you, if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” Not just so I can speak but that

He can speak to me…to us from the heart of the fire…burning through the hardness of wood so that the harvestone little bud turns to 1000…so

How shall the soul in us longer live
Deaf to their starving call,
For whom the blood of the Lord was shed,
And His body broken to give them. bread,
If we eat our morsel alone!”

Let’s be patient and trust that the treasure we look for is hidden in the ground on which we stand.— Henri J. M. Nouwen

I am so excited about She Speaks Conference!  It is a conference for women’s heart.  I think of Romans 8:30 says….Bring them into the calling that You have predestined for them.  He has a calling for each one of us and I am excited to begin this journey of creating the art that He has placed with my heart.  I also long to help others fulfill their calling as well. SO – please pray about coming.  Click here to find out more information on the She Speaks Conference to learn more about women connecting the hearts of women to the heart of our Father God and that your heart is to serve Him and His daughters, as He leads.

why do you blog…part 2

**ProPhoto is having technical issues..no sidebar.  Hopfully it will be fixed soon!

“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we’ll ever do.”…Brene Brown

Dear Monday…why do you blog? was a post that had a lot of feedback causing me to continue to dig deeper for my blogging purpose.  I am sharing three.

3 reasons I blog…right now

One

Community

a foundation of flesh…a support system.

God is raising up a foundation of women for me as I step onto the battle field to go hand to hand combat with the enemy on my own.  Beth Moore said that no one can fight the battle for you in the end.  They can help us on the way there but in the end…it is us.

Two

Calling

Rom 8:30 says….Bring them into the calling that You have predestined for them.  I feel that blogging is Him bringing me into my calling. I’ve wanted to write since I was a little girl and never did.  Just a dream.  Now I can.  It is helping me grow in the art of writing and sharing.

Three

Compassion

In my ” mid-life”;) God has opened my eyes to see women more uniquely and not so much as competition.  Each of us has an authentic calling, genetic makeup, learned behavior, wounds from lies believed, personalities and what we do looks different from everyone else.  We so often put ourselves in a box that is supposed to look like everyone else and when it doesn’t, we automatically think it is us and questions ourselves as to whether we are ok?

I learn a lot from other women who are different from me.

Women are scary. We are not easy to be real and authentic with.  We don’t trust easily.  We put on masks of perfection and in reality, it is the imperfection that we all so need from one another.  Inside we are ate up with trying to be like them and losing ourselves in the process.

Bottom line for me  is …I have some goals for my blog but I am learning to enjoy them as part of  this journey.  Enjoy the art of creating. I am learning to love finding ME.   Just be YOU!

I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world…Mother Teresa

We never know what He is using our story for. Whether you have 20 followers or 2000 followers your story is just as imperative to share as anyone’s. Let us be encourager’s of each others art or calling today.

One’s reason for blogging is not another’s…it doesn’t make you wrong and them right…and it is His blog anyway;)

I get up every morning excited to be with you all..to share my heart as God is healing it..to sit before each of you and learn..I couldn’t be more complete in THIS area of my life.  the rest….well….TIME:) I wish I could give you all a big HUG…thank you for your outpouring of love to Gabi yesterday.  My heart was over the moon as I’m sure theirs was as well.

XO,

Dear Monday…meet my friend Gabi

This is Gabi.  She is 9.  Through an ice skating injury causing a trip to the Dr. for a MRI, what was thought to be a stress fracture…showed that she has osteosarcoma. Our daughter’s went to the same gym for competitive gymnastics for over two years.

Cancer effects the whole family.  It doesn’t come as a choice as to whether we want it or not.  and it is scary.  I felt my heart wrung out for this family.  I’ve known them for over two years.  I think of each one.  I think of mom,who has 3 other girls.

I just want to share their story so we can wrap arms of flesh prayer around them.  I want them to know they will never walk alone.  That they are in the Shelter of Him and His people.  We are His people.  We are a called people. Called to love that is in deed and truth, not just in word and speech.

Sometimes we don’t know what to say or do when cancer comes into our lives in one form or another.

We all have a DEEP need to know we are not alone.  relationship with God or not.  human need.  and we can committ to walking the whole journey with someone.

Please don’t say: “I don’t know how you handle it, I just couldn’t do it!” What are we supposed to do, shrivel up and die because our child has cancer? We aren’t “handling” it because we are superior people, we simply have no choice. We have to protect our children. In fact maybe we are not “handling” it at all, it may be that we are a total emotional mess, but we have to save our kids so in the haze of hospital rooms and surgeries and toxic drugs put in our children’s veins we focus on the important facts that we have to know – like focussing on the taillights of the car in front of you as you drive through the fog. And we may have a smile on our face as we talk to you, but that doesn’t mean we don’t cry in the nights, it only means that we are trying to make you comfortable so that you will keep talking to us.

Click here to visit Gabi’s site. You may have to register first. Her mom tells me she loves reading her guest book. Gabi goes to the hospital on Tuesday for her first round of chemo. She will be in for four days. Would you please join us in lifting this family up in prayer as they begin this journey? this is hard eucharisteo…thanking Him for blogging and the way God knits hearts and lives together and that we can pray for one another. Let us, today, attempt great things for God; take His faith and believe for them and His strength to accomplish them…from Days of Heaven on Earth.

what to do when you don’t feel pretty?

I got my hair colored and I had long side bangs cut in…yikes!

before the  ” moon face ” comes picture.  When your on long term steroids your face turns round… Grace took this for me yesterday for me to capture my subtle ” bangs”….

here is Grace..

The gray showing 3/4 in when my hair was pulled back and then a week or so ago… thinking I had something white in my hair …and it was gray …well enough said!  some of you get what I’m saying:)

I always color my hair..the darker I’ve gone.. the quicker the gray shows…ugh!   This time of year, with the fluctuating cold and warm weather, school almost out, summer just teasing us…I wanted a fun change. While I dont’ make big decisions with my hair lightly .. today I did.  and I like it.  I wanted to give myself the gift of change today..to make myself feel prettier when I don’t ” feel “ that way right now.

What I  really need to get done is my eyebrows!  I usually maintain them myself but after being sick for several weeks and then the hospital I came home and looked in the mirror and thought…holy cow!  so I might be doing that today:)

The kids and I are ready to embark on a journey…kinda like our old friend Abram.  Remember? In Genesis 11 and on God called him and instead of going to Canaan he settled in Ur?  well..my story has come full circle 3 times…I am thinking obedience is not my forte and that it is in the

belief – not the understanding

and I am one who always has to understand…

moral of the story? go do something to make you feel pretty today…maybe a new cut or color?  or go to Victorias secret and grab a bra & panties…just sayin;)

XO & Happy Weekend,
